Gordon qualified as a Chartered Accountant with North East independent firm RMT. After a short stay with a national firm he joined Home Group in 1995 initially providing financial management to smaller client housing associations and leading Home’s agency managed supported housing business. Gordon’s association with the Cyrenians dates back to this period.
After changing roles through the expansion of Home Group and the merger with Stonham, the largest provider of supported housing services, Gordon joined St Oswald’s Hospice in 2002 as their first Finance Director. After six years and acquiring a Diploma in Charity Accounting Gordon was tempted back to Home Group in 1998 to take the lead Finance role with the Stonham supported housing business.
Gordon was delighted to join the Board of the Cyrenians and offer his experience of charities, housing and support to help a high profile and successful organisation provide much needed services to vulnerable members of North East society.
Gordon lives in Ashington, is married with two sons and follows most sports from the comfort of his arm chair.
