Jonathan Austin – Founder and CEO of ‘Best Companies’ explained the importance of staff engagement:
“We would like to congratulate The Cyrenians on their outstanding achievement. An engaged workforce is essential as organisations move out of the recession and into a more stable economic situation. Many organisations have tackled rapid change this year and organisations like The Cyrenians, that have kept on engaging their staff and making sure that they are involved in the business, will be in a good position for the future. They should be congratulated for their efforts”.
Speaking about the award, Stephen Bell said:
“We are delighted to have achieved 2 Star Status in the Best Companies to Work For. The fact that the results are based upon staff feedback makes this a very significant award. We work hard to make sure we keep everyone involved; it is especially important given the type of work we do.
“As employers, The Cyrenians are in the top 5% in the North East and we hope that this award will continue to enhance our reputation as being an outstanding place to work.”
The Best Companies accreditation award scheme acknowledges excellence in the workplace. Based on staff feedback, it looks at employee engagement as an integral part of an organisations’ success and growth, and sets a benchmark for other employers. The accreditation scheme follows a ‘Michelin Star’ style system - with companies awarded one star for first class, two stars for outstanding and three stars for extraordinary performance.
The Best Companies 2010 star status accreditation ceremony will be held at The Art of Engagement, the groundbreaking event being opened by Best Companies later in the Spring.
