Managers at The Cyrenians celebrate Gateshead College successes

On Thursday 9 December, the Sage Gateshead hosted Gateshead College Annual Students Award ceremony, a prestigious event which recognises and celebrates achievements of the most outstanding and successful students in the academic year.

Three managers from The Cyrenians were nominated for awards; Kim Andrews, Maureen Butterfield and Tammi Owers. All had successfully completed the CMI Level 3 Diploma in First Line Management.

Val Nevin, Head of Professional Development at The Cyrenians said:

"Kim, Maureen and Tammi were chosen from 12,000 students. This is a magnificent achievement and we at The Cyrenians are all very proud! We are delighted that three of our most dedicated staff have had their efforts recognised by their tutors in this way and have received these special awards. To be chosen from amongst 12,000 other students is fantastic and highlights the calibre of our managers."

Commenting on the awards and on behalf of her colleagues Maureen and Tammi, Kim Andrews said:

"Completing this course has helped us gain confidence in our management roles and enabled us to look at the way we were working, how our teams were working and how to change for the future. Receiving the awards is fantastic and we are very proud of ourselves. We’d like to thank everyone who supported and encouraged us and who had faith that we would succeed. Without that belief we may not have completed."
