Girls at Sacred Heart School relax after exams on great new outdoor furniture
Beautiful new solid meranti timber benches
designed, built and installed by trainees of The Cyrenians have created a relaxing new outdoor space at Sacred Heart School in Newcastle upon Tyne.
Karl Fisher, joinery tutor at The Cyrenians explained:
“We designed the benches to reflect the beautiful parkland surrounding Sacred Heart School and to enhance the overall feel of the outside area.
“We were delighted to be approached by Sacred Heart and love the idea that the benches are becoming a popular meeting spot for the girls to meet up and chat together. Hopefully this will continue for years and generations to come.”
Clearly delighted with the new area, Headteacher, Mrs Wager said:
“Parents and pupils have held many events to raise the money to commission the new school benches. We were very keen not to buy ‘off the shelf’ furniture and it was suggested that The Cyrenians would design and make them for us.
“It’s been a great project; we have thoroughly enjoyed working with the team from The Cyrenians on the design of the furniture and planning of the project.
“The girls really appreciate and value what we’ve achieved – and they are enjoying their comfortable and stylish outdoor surroundings!”
