The Cyrenians Show Outstanding Practice at North East Equality Awards

The Cyrenians were honoured to receive the North East Equality Award for Outstanding Practice 2011

On Friday 21st October The Cyrenians were honoured to receive the North East Equality Award for Outstanding Practice 2011.

The annual awards, to promote diversity and equality in the workplace, were held at a ceremony at the Gosforth Park Marriott Hotel. In their eighth year, the North East Equality Awards have become a significant fixture on the North East business calendar, highlighting and celebrating the good equality practice being carried out regionally.

With finalists from a wide range of public, private and third sector organisations shortlisted for their efforts in promoting Equality and Diversity in the workplace, The Cyrenians faced fierce competition in the Outstanding Practice category sponsored by Working Links.

Stephen Bell, Group Chief Executive of The Cyrenians, said of the award, "We are privileged to have been recognised in our efforts to promote equality and diversity throughout our organisation.

"The Outstanding Practice Award is a great example of our staff, and the The Cyrenians as a whole, embracing the benefits of good equality practice and understanding the value that a diverse staff team can bring."
